you know,
i had all these wonderful blog posts i was gonna write lately.
i was going to write one about our time in lansing.
about how we arrived with one little baby and left with three kids.
three kids and a lot of sweet memories.
i kind of feel like our family was born in lansing.
i was going to write one about our last adventures there.
like the last trip we took to the farmer's market,
or the last time we visited the splash pad.
or our last goodbye to the condo that we were growing out of too fast.
i was going to write one about our new house.
it was going to be full of before and after pictures,
and you all were going to be so jealous of our new digs.
i was going to write one about maggie.
it was going to have videos of all her favorite songs,
and some scripts of the conversations we've had lately.
that post would have really had you cracking up.
i was going to write one about tennyson.
it was going to be all about his obsession with legos and superheroes.
it would have had pictures of his room,
and his shoes,
and maybe even a video of him listing off all the superheroes he knows.
(which is all of them, basically.)
but instead,
life has been busy.
we've been exploring this new place we call home.
we've been hanging out with our new friends a few times a week.
we've been playing outside in our new fenced in backyard.
we've been going on family walks to the park and grabbing cookies on the way home.
we've been focusing on being the family we've always wanted to be.
we've been doing scripture study and prayers every night.
we've been sitting together for meals.
(meals that i've actually had ready for mike as he walks through the door at night.)
i've been trying to finally lose my baby weight.
(i won't mention that tennyson was the baby that caused the weight.)
i've been going for runs again,
and trying to do more than one sit up at a time.
i'm hoping to run another half marathon next year.
because i'm a little crazy.
in our free time, we've been working on our house.
we've been hanging pictures,
hanging drapes,
painting,
unpacking boxes,
finding places for all our stuff.
so at the end of the night, we usually collapse on the couch.
(where we eat cookies and watch smallville.)
one day, i'll have spare time again.
and i'll use that to blog.
but until then, i hope these pictures will hold you over.

Great post! I need to update ours too! You have a beautiful family and we're so glad to know you! A busy life is FUN!
