how we became a family

we met in our freshman ward at byu. we were in the same fhe group from day one, but it wasn't until christmas that we really became friends. we went on a trip to temple square to see the lights and became fast friends.

we dated on and off for most of our sophomore year. i was always the one to end things. mike was persistent.

eventually i came around and decided we should be dating for real, instead of just doing the whole "friends with benefits" dance. i promised not to break things off too hastily this time.

and i didn't.

we were officially dating for a month. then mike proposed. he had dove chocolates with a custom message inside that said "nichelle, will you marry me?" he proposed in the front seat of my car and i was very surprised.

we soon started planning for our july wedding.

and when the day came, it was perfect. we were married on july 17, 2008 in the mount timpanogos temple. we had a lovely backyard reception at my aunt's house nearby.

and we've been living happily ever after ever since.
