Two Months!

Two Months

Tennyson turned two months old today!!

We went to the pediatrician for his check up and found out he really is the chunky baby we thought he is. He weighs 12lbs 11oz which is the 75th percentile and is 22 inches which is the 30th percentile. What this means is we have a porker who eats too much. It also means that he has outgrown his 0-3 month clothes around the stomach but isn’t nearly long enough for his 3-6 month clothes. So either his gut hangs out of his shirts or he drowns in the next size up. We opt for the gut.

What he’s been up to lately:

-Swinging at the toys on his play mat

-Being a head-holding up champ

-“Talking” our ears off

-Smiling all the time

-Loving going on walks outside

-Getting onto more or less of a schedule

-Eating his hands

-Growing his hair back

He also got his vaccines today and he was a little trooper! He cried a bit when they gave the shots, but calmed down really quick afterwards, downed a bottle and in the time it took us to drive the couple blocks home, he fell asleep. What a great kid.

Your Baby Can Read!

yourbaby290_1

Your Baby Can Read is a program that teaches children how to read at an age as early as nine months. Through the use of flash cards, videos, words, pictures, and sounds parents can teach their babies reading and spelling at an early age and get them “ahead of the game.”

What parents are calling “Amazing!” “Exceptional!” “A great head start for children” is simply just for amateurs. Where some children need the special programs to help their children, Tennyson just takes the initiative. Even now he likes to lay in bed with a good book for some leisure reading. Here are some pictures of him earlier today!

ABC Animal Orchestra is one of his favorites.

He likes to get in bed and have a good read before his nap.

He was surprised to see mom and dad taking pictures of him during his reading time.

But he still gets tired after a good book.

For the Grandmas (and Grandpas too)

But really this is mostly for the grandmas.

A Video

Tennyson has started making happy noises. He loves his play mat lately. Last night when we would put him in his crib, he would coo and laugh at his mobile for a few minutes before finally falling asleep. Mike and I just laughed while we listened to him.

Today we introduced him to his toy Mortimer the Moose. I think he likes it.

My Grandparent’s 50th!

 013

Last weekend my grandparents celebrated their 50th anniversary so the whole family came into town and we spent the entire weekend at my aunt’s house celebrating!

Everyone loved spending time with Tennyson and he ate pretty much the whole weekend… he is such a show off!

On Saturday morning everyone got into teams and we played games from the TV show Minute to Win It. Even Tennyson played!

Mike dominated the game where you had to move an Oreo from your forehead to your mouth only using your face muscles. He got all three into his mouth before anyone else even got one. I don’t want to know how he was so good at this…

Here are some pictures of other games we played:

We also had a magician come. He was great with the kids and pretty entertaining for the adults as well. He made some balloon animals for all the kids and he made a flower for my grandma and a clown hat for my grandpa.

On Saturday night my grandparents were picked up in a limo and we all had dinner at Goodwood Barbeque. Mike and I got a family meal to split with my cousin Kiel and his wife Emily. Everyone at the table was jealous that they didn’t think of doing it because we got the most food out of everyone. We are just smart like that.

It was great having the whole family together again for a weekend!

Happy 50th Grandma and Grandpa!!
