Yager Kid's Easter Party

Every year we get more than our fill of candy at the kid's Easter party. This year was no exception. We had a great time. Except that ONE cousin was extremely late. Something about how he had just gotten engaged or something... excuses. So we all got a bit antsy waiting around in the kitchen (we couldn't venture into any other room of the house because the candy was hidden). Luckily, the kids stayed pretty entertained with the trick we taught them last year.

Last year:

This year:

When the very late cousin finally showed up, my grandma could give us out her directions. When I was younger, the directions were very specific. Three bags of skittles, two eggs, one toy, two bubbles... etc. But, since the family has grown, it isn't so specific. Still, however, there are directions.

After we all knew where we could and couldn't go, the search was on!

There was plenty of candy to be found. We all ended up with enough sugar to put a person into a diabetic coma. The baskets became so heavy it was hard for the younger kids to carry them. And, from the looks of it, I was so happy I couldn't even keep my eyes open!

My aunt Carol found the best treat of them all . . . funeral potatoes!

We all ate a nice Easter lunch after the search was over. It was a really nice day, and we'll be eating all the candy for the months and months to come.
