Three Months

My little girl is three months old today.

It's crazy how three months is such a short amount of time, but it feels like she's been with us forever.

She's changing so much every day.

She weighs just over 14 pounds, and she is 23 inches long. I like having a 50th percentile baby. Clothes fit much better. She's into 3-6 month tops. She's still growing into her 3-6 month pants.

It is so fun to watch Maggie as she gets older. It is amazing to me how my 3 month old Maggie is so different than my 3 month old Tennyson was. She's much more relaxed than he ever was. He was (and is) my ball of quirky chaos who needs constant attention. She is my happy observer. She likes the swing. She likes playing on the floor. I feel bad because sometimes I forget she's in the room. She'll be swinging and we'll be eating lunch and half an hour later, I'll remember she's there.

We saw her physical therapist on Tuesday. Her torticollis is very mild (as we suspected). She gave us some homework, and if we don't see improvement, we'll contact her again. But the therapist is pretty sure that if we spend time with her every day working on turning her head, and if we give her lots of tummy time, the problem will likely resolve itself. We also have to work on her hand, because her left thumb is tucked in and tight, so we need to loosen the muscle so that she can start to grab things.

Other things MJ has been up to:

She can hold her head up during tummy time (and then it slowly tips to the right side, which then makes her whole body tip, which is pretty cute to watch).
She sleeps for 6 hour stretches at night.
She needs her swaddle. She won't sleep without it.
Sometimes she takes a binky, other times it makes her gag.
She loves to munch on her hands.
She thinks her brother is the funniest thing in the entire world. They are already becoming best of friends. I tell Mike that I'm pretty sure we ended up with less spacing between kids than we had originally planned because her and her brother just couldn't stand being apart any longer.
She smiles, coos, and laughs.
She still prefers nursing to a bottle. Sometimes she won't let anyone but mom feed her.

We love having her around. She lights up any room and brightens any day.
