Surprise!

A couple of weeks ago I got locked out of our apartment and our managers were out of town and Mike wasn’t going to be home for a couple of hours, so my only option was to break in. Luckily the screen on our bedroom window was already broken so I popped it out and slid the window open and broke in. I was a little surprised about how easy it was. I just kind of hoped that no burglar or murderer ever found out.

So then yesterday I was coming home from work at seven. I was going to do some relaxing before I had to pick Mike up at eight thirty. As I walked our kitchen window, I noticed that we had accidentally left the blinds open. I don’t like when we do this because then people know the nice stuff we have in our apartment and the burglars might want to come. Then I kept walking and when I got to our bedroom window, I noticed that the screen was gone and the window was wide open. This freaked me out a little bit because I thought someone had broken in. Then I thought, maybe, just maybe, Mike had tried to put in the air conditioner without me and then given up and forgotten to put the window back together. But since he was at work, I couldn’t call him and ask. So I decided I had to go in and see if we had been robbed or if there was someone waiting to kill me. I slooowly opened the front door to check and see if the TV was there (I figured if our TV and Blu-Ray are still here, we probably weren’t robbed). So I saw our technology sitting there and I was relieved that no one broke in to rob us. That only left someone breaking in to MURDER me. So I started to close the front door to go check out the apartment for scary lurkers and then someone jumped out and grabbed me! I screamed and then realized it was Mike and then cried. He got me good. He had gotten off of work early, gotten a ride with David, and then broke into the apartment since he didn’t have any keys. He didn’t know he was going to scare me so bad, but he sure did.

Some good food

After hearing my grandparents and everyone else in the state of Utah ranting and raving about Five Guys Burger and Fries, we decided we’d give it a try. So we called up some of our friends and we went there for some… well… burgers and fries.

It was very tasty, I must say. I like that you can pick out your own toppings (even though Mike didn’t get the BBQ sauce he asked for). And the fries were very tasty! We were glad that they gave us so many of them because Mike and I attacked them. Mike really enjoyed the shelled peanuts they give you for free as well. He hadn’t had them in a long time and went to town while we were waiting for our order to be up. It was good, we’ll probably go back there sometime, but not too soon because our arteries need a break.

Bowling

This last weekend we went bowling at Fat Cats here in Provo. It was a lot of fun. We played four games worth since it was only the two of us. Mike did awesome! He got a 156 at one point. Mostly, my games could be summed up with this comic:


But it was a lot of fun. And afterwards we celebrated Mike's wonderful bowling with a couple of Frostys.

I apologize

Sorry our blog has been relatively boring lately. We don't do anything, ever. Well, not true.

We work, we study, we go to class (more I than we), we sleep and we eat. Sometimes we even talk to each other (but only rarely when time permits).

Luckily for you readers, my classes end in a week! Hooray! Maybe after that we will have more exciting activities to write about. But I will up my hours at work, so really things won't change much. But here is for hoping!

Here is a list of the most exciting things we've done lately:
1. We bought our plane tickets to DisneyWorld!!!! We are both so excited to go--seriously. Now we just have to wait until August.
2. Mike took the LSAT. I don't know if this counts as "exciting", but it is something that has happened recently. Now we just have to wait three weeks until we get the results.
3. We made some very delicious cookies with some special mini mini reeses chips I brought home from Chicago for Mike. I am ashamed to say that we ate them in about 24 hours. By ourselves.
4. We saw Up in 3D and we really enjoyed it. It was better than we were both expecting and the old man reminded me of my great-grandpa Hartmann.

Aaand, that's about it. Really, not much happens here in Provo. I remember the good ol' days when summer break was all play and no work; now it is all work and no play. Being grown up is lame.
